Music update October 7, 2019

The Saddle Ridge Grade 4 choir have begun their practices. We are very excited about that!

Kindergarten and Grade 1 music - The students have been learning about the season of Autumn through songs, movement and poems. We love our poem 'Two Little Apples' and moving to the songs 'Slippery Fish' and 'Let's Play a Statue Game'. We have continued to explore beat and have learned about the woodblock and tambourine! So much fun!

Grade 2-4 music - The students have been learning/reviewing rhythm and notation  (ta, ti-ti and rest). We have begun to explore some instruments in the music room including the xylophones, metallophones and glockenspiels. We are learning about form and how music is organized. We have also learned more about one of our favorite composers, Vivaldi, and his famous composition called 'The Four Seasons'.

This week in music...

In music class, we have been learning songs and poems related to fall and Halloween. Some of our favorites include; 'Autumn Leaves'...
